The back half of summer 2026 is stacked with heavy hitters from the biggest studios in the business. We've got remakes, tag-team fighters, turn-based Star Wars tactics, and more. Here are five AAA releases to keep on your radar right now.

1. Halo: Campaign Evolved (Jul 23, 2026)

Halo Studios is rebuilding Combat Evolved's campaign with high-definition visuals, updated cinematics, and refined controls, landing July 23 on PC, PS5, and Xbox. The pitch goes beyond a straight remake: three new prequel missions feature the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, and a broader arsenal of weapons, vehicles, and enemies expands the original. Optional Skull modifiers change up combat for replayability. Notably, this is a Halo campaign arriving on PlayStation, so if you skipped the original or want a modern take, it's one to watch.

2. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls (Jul 24, 2026)

Arc System Works, the studio behind Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ, teams with PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games for a 4v4 tag-team fighter due July 24 on PC and PS5. Expect an iconic roster of heroes and villains, authentic stages, and the fast, over-the-top action Arc is known for, all wrapped in stunning anime-inspired visuals. The developer pairing alone makes this worth tracking, and the mix of team-battle chaos with intuitive mechanics could pull in both fighting-game veterans and Marvel fans.

3. Star Wars Zero Company (Aug 27, 2026)

Bit Reactor is building a single-player, turn-based tactics game set in the Star Wars universe, out August 27 on PC, PS5, and Xbox. You command an elite squad through what's billed as a gritty, authentic story. Squad-based tactics in a Star Wars setting is a combination we don't see often, and the turn-based approach suggests something deliberate rather than a run-and-gun shooter. If you like methodical strategy, this is worth putting on your list ahead of launch.

4. Splatoon Raiders (Jul 23, 2026)

Nintendo EPD's next Splatoon spin-off, out July 23 on Switch, shifts to a single-player-focused action shooter. You play as a mechanic working alongside Deep Cut, a trio of swashbuckling musicians, exploring the Spirhalite Islands. Customize your character, equip mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons, and take on waves of Salmonids while hunting for treasure. A member of Deep Cut joins each raid, so you're not entirely solo. A story-driven Splatoon that leans into adventure over multiplayer is a fresh angle worth a look.

5. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Master Collection Version (Aug 27, 2026)

Solid Snake's final battle comes to modern hardware on August 27, landing on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox. Set five years after the Big Shell incident from Sons of Liberty, MGS4 drops you into a world where war has become a business as Snake moves to stop Liquid Ocelot's uprising. This Master Collection version makes one of the series' most acclaimed stealth chapters widely available again, including its first appearance on non-PlayStation platforms. If you missed it originally, this is your chance.
