PRIVACY POLICY

Gamebonk is a one-person project for tracking upcoming game releases. This page lists everything it knows about you, in plain English.

WHAT WE COLLECT

• Your email address and optional name, if you create an account. You sign in with a magic link, or with Google or Discord — there are no passwords to store. Signing in with Google or Discord shares your email and name with us; Discord also shares your Discord user ID, which we use only to send reminders by Discord message if you turn that on.
• The reminders and follows you set: which games, and how far ahead you want to hear about them.
• Premium billing, if you subscribe. Payments are handled by Stripe; we store your Stripe customer ID and plan status, never your card details.
• A push notification token, if you use the Gamebonk mobile app and allow notifications, so we can deliver the reminders you set.

That is the whole list. Game data (titles, dates, artwork, trailers) comes from public sources — IGDB, Steam, RAWG, itch.io, and YouTube — and is not about you.

YOUTUBE

Gamebonk uses YouTube API Services in three ways:

• Trailer players. Game pages and articles embed YouTube trailers in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play; once you do, YouTube may collect data about that playback under its own policies.
• Public video information. We read public details of videos on public YouTube channels — titles, upload dates, view counts — to decide which games and trailers to feature. Raw information we get this way is refreshed or deleted within 30 days; we keep only our own derived numbers (such as a video’s first-day views per hour).
• Our own channels. We publish videos to YouTube channels we own, through the YouTube Data API.

Gamebonk never asks for access to your Google or YouTube account and does not collect, store, or share any YouTube data about you. YouTube’s handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service. You can review or revoke any app’s access to your Google account at Google’s security settings.

COOKIES AND ANALYTICS

We set one cookie of our own: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. For analytics we use Umami, a cookie-less tool that counts page views in aggregate and stores no personal identifiers — which is why there is no cookie banner here. No advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind. A YouTube player you press play on is YouTube’s, and may set YouTube’s own cookies.

EMAIL

We send exactly two kinds of email, both through Resend: magic links you request when signing in, and the release reminders you asked for. Every reminder email includes a link to manage or stop your reminders. We will not send marketing email without asking you first.

WHERE IT LIVES, WHO SEES IT

Data is stored in Postgres on Railway, which also runs the site; encrypted backups are kept on Cloudflare R2. Railway, Cloudflare, Resend, and Stripe process data on our behalf, only to run the parts of Gamebonk described above. We never sell your data, and nobody else gets it.

DELETING YOUR DATA

Email diceygaming@gmail.com from your account address and we will delete your account, sessions, reminders, and push tokens — everything keyed to you. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
